Mitchell Bailey is a Junior at Colorado State University studying Civil Engineering. He grew up in Japan and Germany in a military environment. He remembers fishing early in his life when he would return to the United States every summer. Michigan is where he developed his love for the outdoors and fishing. When he moved to Colorado for college, his interest in fly fishing sparked. It has become his biggest hobby and spends a lot of time and money on it. From making the flies to fish with, to driving to different destinations, he enjoys every aspect of the sport. He is a member of the Fly Fishing Club at CSU and has created connections with like minded fishermen. Aside from class, Mitchell spends the majority of his time fishing at the Cache la Poudre River in the Poudre Canyon. He spends the rest of his down time in coffee shops and fly fishing stores in Old Town, Fort Collins, Colo.
My name is Anna Chiara Garland. I am a Junior at Colorado State University majoring in Journalism and Technical Communications. I was raised overseas in a military community, and I graduated from Patch American High School in Stuttgart, Germany. Growing up in Europe has fueled my desire to travel and experience new cultures. I also have a passion for photography and videography, which I am pursuing through my journalism major.
I am half Italian and growing up, I have spent most of my summers with my mother’s side of the family in Italy. Aside from Stuttgart, Germany; Puglia, Italy, is where I consider home.
Another thing that I hold very dear to me is all forms of art. I particularly love music by the Beatles and books written by J.K. Rowling. My creative outlets include painting, photography, and dancing. I enjoy revelling in the impact that art can have on humanity, and that is one of the things that contributes to my love for journalism and photography.
I am also extremely passionate about weddings. My dream is to be a wedding photographer/videographer, or work for a bridal magazine. The time and energy spent preparing and the true meaning behind a wedding is what drives me to love them so much. I would be honored to capture such a beautiful day and, for others to be able to reminisce forever.
I enjoy hiking with my friends and admiring the squirrels on campus. As an optimist I am very excited for the bright future ahead, and hope to impact others positively.
